Fear is essential- You can’t grow in comfort zone
If you live in comfort zone due to fear, will lead no place. Fear vandalizes brighter lives than you might imagine. Each of us, has the potential to Lead our life better and achieve great things that elevate everyone around us by our model of possibility. But the chattering voice of fear in our heads stops us from playing big. Few years back while I was in Singapore got an opportunity to do bungee jumping. Yes, this is where a helicopter drops you off at the top of a mountain, and you fly in sky and a while after rope makes you secured. The experience was challenging, exhilarating and full of rich lessons for growth. Here are some of them that we can apply to business and life:
I spotted a young man yelling, “I will not drive car, I don’t know how to drive car and I am afraid of driving car.”
Now do you think that he’ll ever be able to learn driving? No never.
Driving calls me up about fear for driving and swimming.
I was afraid of driving for 5 years at stretch. I bought a car as soon as bungee jumping experience popped into my mind. Same chattering voice of fear in my head started trying to stop me but a quote my teacher used to say in my childhood didn’t let my fear stop me.
“The work / project scares you the most means it is bigger “
“Work scares you the most must be done at earliest”
“JIS CHIZ SE DAR LGE USE SBSE PHLE KRO.”
What I all mean to say fear is only the thing defines us bigger task.
- You Don’t Grow In Normal All I mean by this is that if you stay within your comfort zone, you don’t grow. But if you instead stretch and face fear head on by going to your limits, you’ll discover your limits will grow.
Winter morning you remain in comfort zone you would wet your bed. Remain in comfort zone till it is essential but to be in comfort zone always gives you lassitude.
- You Don’t Know until You Try, It would have been easy to refuse the chance to do bungee jumping. I could have made a thousand excuses. But winners recognize good opportunities. So I seized it. And because I tried bungee jumping, I not only grew as a bungee jumper, I added another experience to my life that will shape all I do.
Ted Turner founder of CNN and Cartoon Network said that building a television network was actually easy. Why? Because the barriers to entry were so high that most people didn’t have the capital nor the stomach to get in. He did. And so he made a fortune. And changed the world. The belief worth wiring into your mindset: go for the opportunities very few believe they can realize. It’ll be a lot easier than you think to get traction as well as to lead the field because there’s so little competition. Beat your fear with a thought
“All Easy jobs you do were most difficult before.”
- On the Other Side of Your Fears You’ll Find Your Confidence By doing what we’re afraid to do because it’s beyond our comfort zone, we grow in confidence. The increased confidence I have as a bungee jumper because I jumped from a new peak will translate to increased confidence as an entrepreneur and as a human being.
